After a last minute change to the date to avoid an incoming storm, a group of five of us met up at Symonds Yat Caravan Park. A very kind man unlocked the gates to allow us to launch safely and we set off under blue skies and warm sunshine! The river was high and fast and we got to the rapids at Symonds Yat in no time. We all got down them safely - it was a bouncy ride (definitely grade 2!) and some practiced their breaking in and out on the way down. We arrived in Monmouth about an hour later having paddled the 10.79 km in record time due to the speed of the river. Another excellent paddle - good weather, great company (we had quite a few laughs!), and expert advice and encouragement given along the way. Thanks Gareth for organising it and for bringing it forward to avoid the wind and rain that was forecast!
