It was a last minute decision, the 4 of us, Chris, Elise, Graeme and Clive went to the Tryweryn (click the link to read the river guide) last Saturday, just for the day to have some fun, and we did have some fun.
We met at the centre, got change, put the boats on the trailer and headed to the top section of the Tryweryn to warm up on the upper section.
After warming up we heading onto the main section, starting with the graveyard. lots of eddys, lots of rocks, lots of breakout to be had. Everyone did really well, getting the breakouts they wanted, pushing themselves and having fun.
Part way down, a few drops after the judging hut on the left hand side Elise broke in and unfortunately went over, and she rolled back up almost straight away, she way very pleased.

We continued down the rest of the graveyard, with Skip Slope next, Graeme, Chris & Elise went for the breakout on river left, Clive took the centre right line.
After Ski Slope are 2 small drops before Miss Davis Bridge, an intimidating drop with a sloped stopper that will back flip you if you take it wrong. Chris and Graeme went right, Clive and Elise went left. After this it is down to Cafe Wave and the drop after it. The breakout at Cafe Wave it straight forward but the drop after it require a bit of commitment and decision where to go. We all took a different line here and then it was down to the get out.
So 1st run done and off for the 2nd one. Boats on trailer and a nice walk back up to the upper.
We started again as we did on the first run and telling each other about the breakouts we got and pushing each other to get other ones. Clive lead down the first section, with the group getting all of the first series of eddys. Then it was the Judging hut with Chris, Graeme and Elise getting the one above the drop on the right. We were in the main one river left and Clive decided to get the one directly behind, Chris was in it (plenty of room), off he went, great line down, turn into the eddy and,... hmm there was a rock that had other ideas!! Perched against the rock not able to get into the eddy and half over he went for a roll and the rocks were in the way, 3 rolls later and off came the spraydeck. Chris & Graeme chased the boat and paddle and there was Elise shouting 'Swim for the Eddy!' After a few bangs on rock he got to the eddy, and apart from a graze on his face all way well.
Boat, Paddle and Paddler reunited Clive decided to call it a day and headed back to the car park. Chris, Elise and Graeme finished the run and met up with Clive for some lunch.
After lunch Clive headed home with the others had another run.
They all had a great day and are looking forward to going back up again real soon!!
